Halloween on the Lawn
I love Halloween on the Lawn... a chance to see adorably dressed up children and dogs. What's not to love?
This girl got very excited when she saw Biscuit, because she was dressed up as a dog.

Biscuit got to meet a French Bulldog/Princess.

Bees and Peacocks. Ladybugs and Skunks.

A Pink Butterfly.

Biscuit got to see the Ghost of Halloween Past... or, what he looked like this time last year.

We saw a lone hamburger.

And something to do with Dr. Who, though I've never seen the show.

A Reindeer and a Skunk made friends.

Then the Reindeer took off.

And the Skunk missed his friend..

Biscuit used his bird-dog skills to sniff out a Peacock.

And got some great pets from either a cat, kangaroo, or some kind of rodent.

The house from "Up" was a neat costume.

The lawn was thronged with people.

Though the leaves reflected fall, it was unseasonably warm.

Creative & Fun Pumpkin Ideas
I can't adequately express my feelings about fall or pumpkins. My husband can tell you that I never miss a chance to bake with pumpkin, that I look forward to pumpkin all year and I take an inordinate amount of time to scrutinize each and every pumpkin in the patch until I find the right one.
I don't always carve my pumpkins because I actually have a bit of an allergic reaction to squash! But there are lots of great things you can do even if you don't carve... like these!
Go classy

Go black & white

Go poetic

Or white on black

Go rustic

Be thorny

Be funky

Celebrate fall

Irish Cows
After leaving Carrick-on-Shannon we hit the road for Sligo. We made a number of stops along the way to explore ancient abbeys tucked away just off the road, beautiful lakes and these cows:

View From My Window
It's dusk. And I'm giddy to see that the two fawns I first spotted early last month are still living and grazing happily in our yard.
